Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd ("BMC") organized an appreciation ceremony for industrial attachment of 12 instructors from Jefri Bolkiah College, 3 students from Sultan Bolkiah Campus and Nakhoda Ragam Campus of Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) held on 2 and 3 November 2017.
The event which was organized annually as part of our CSR initiatives towards supporting local education institutions especially in beefing up the educators’ competencies and enhancing students’ skill capabilities. BMC has been very active in providing training platforms to several education institutions both locally and overseas in order to cater for local students’ academic requirements.
In attendance were Hj Daud bin Hj Jais, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of BMC, Dr Chin Wei Keh, CEO of IBTE and several senior management from BMC and IBTE. The event started with a welcoming speech by Dk Norain bte Pg Hj Hashim, our Human Resource Manager, and followed by the presentation from the instructors and students of IBTE. Both instructors and students share their valuable experience during 3 months’ work attachment at BMC such as mechanical, instrument and electrical as well as in administrative areas such as stakeholder and human resource. Appreciation certificates were also presented.
BMC has been supporting the local industrial attachment with IBTE Students since 2012 and IBTE instructors since 2014. It is a collaboration that we hope to maintain for years to come as we believe that the right industrial attachment syllabus will help to give a practical insight to the students on their future working world.
