Our executive management team comprises of four individuals who are duly nominated by the joint venture partners to oversee and manage the company

Kaneshige Kubushiro (Chief Executive Officer)
 

Mr. Kubushiro was appointed as the CEO of the Company in 2018. Having a vast experience particularly in methanol production technologies and its downstream plants such as Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) and Methyl Amine, he has been with MGC since he completed his Master’s Program in the Division of Materials Science, School of Engineering, University of Tsukuba in 1993. This Tokyo native spent a considerable number of years in MGC-operated plants located in Saudi Arabia and Nanjing, which adds on to his career highlights. Mr. Kubushiro is also a licensed Administrator of Hazardous Material under the Fire Defense Law, Administrator of Chemicals under the High-Pressure Gas Law and a Qualified Person for Energy Management. In BMC, he is responsible for the management control and direction of day-to-day activities of the Company in accordance to any directive of Board of Directors, the laws of Brunei Darussalam and at the best interest of Company.

Abdul Mu’izz Bin Dato Paduka Haji Alikhan (Deputy Chief Executive Officer)
 

Upon graduating with MSc Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, Mr. Mu’izz joined the Strategic Development Capital Fund (SDC) of the Investment Division, Brunei’s Ministry of Finance & Economy. He has led investment teams in managing portfolios in various sectors. He also gained a year of working experience with a Dubai-based private equity firm. In 2020, Mr. Mu’izz was nominated by SDC to help oversee the overall management of the Company as a Deputy CEO. In BMC, he is responsible in deputizing the Chief Executive Officer for the management control and direction of day-to-day activities of the Company in accordance to any directive of Board of Directors, the laws of Brunei Darussalam and at the best interest of Company.

Jesus Enrique Mora Marin (Executive Officer M)
 

With an illustrious career spanning nearly 4 decades, Mr. Mora, who majored in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Central de Venezuela, played a pivotal role in the success of Metanol de Oriente, S.A. (METOR), a Mitsubishi-operated methanol plant in Venezuela. Although he retired in 2017, MGC sought for his expertise to oversee BMC’s technical growth and development. Mr. Mora is also a licensed Lead Quality of the Quality Assurance System and participated in Reliability Centered Maintenance Programme. In BMC, it is his duty to conduct advisory as well as mentoring in areas of methanol plant technical operation, and to ensure the proper and meaningful transfer of skills and know-how.

Yasuhisa Tsukamoto (Executive Officer I)
 

Mr. Tsukamoto started his career with ITOCHU in 1992 upon graduating with a Master’s Degree in Electronic Chemistry from Tokyo Institute of Technology. Throughout his years in ITOCHU, he is exposed to a variety of discipline such as finance, information technology, chemicals, energy and world trade, all of which are proven to be essential for him to carry the role as the finance and marketing executive in BMC. Having spent a number of years in China and Taiwan, Mr. Tsukamoto is also fluent in Mandarin. In BMC, it is his duty to conduct advisory as well as mentoring in areas of Financing and Marketing, and to ensure the proper and meaningful transfer of skills and know-how.
