At BMC, we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This notice sets out what personal data we collect, how we use that data and how we keep your data safe.

Brunei Legislation on Data Protection

Currently, we understand that Brunei’s Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry (AITI) is working on a new law to protect individual’s personal data, which will apply to the private sector in the country, covering both commercial and non-commercial entities.

 

What personal data do we collect?

We collect and process only the data that is required to allow us to provide our services to you.

  • We collect your name and personal contact information when you raise a report on non-compliance against our employees and/or contractors.

  • We collect your name and personal contact information when you leave us an enquiry seeking for more information, details or anything that you require from the Enquiry page.

  • When you wish to apply for a position in BMC, we collect your personal details which includes your name, date of birth, employment history, personal contact information, national identification number or passport number, nationality, place of birth and curriculum vitae.   

 

Your consent

By providing us your personal information, you are giving consent for us to collect, use and process your personal information.

 

Why do we collect your personal data?

We use the data collected in the following ways, and this is not exhaustive:

  • To provide you with the information that you requested from us.

  • To investigate complaints and suspected suspicious transactions.

  • To prepare and execute legal documents.

  • To prepare relevant paperwork.

 

Do we disclose any personal data?

We do not disclose your personal data to unaffiliated third parties without your consent. BMC may disclose your personal data only to the following:

  • Any person, who is under a duty of confidentiality who has undertaken to keep such data confidential.

  • BMC’s shareholders and corporate representatives, subject always to the management’s endorsement in the best interest of BMC only.

  • As required by law, or to assist in any civil or criminal investigation.
