OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement standards on health, including but not limited to managing and evaluating the provision of occupational health and industrial hygiene services

  • Lead the delivery of agreed industrial hygiene activities and support using standardized tools and processes

  • Undertake surveys, perform efficient health risk management in the workplace and recommend practical and strategic alternatives/solutions on health and hygiene issues

  • Act as the resource person for all industrial hygiene consultations and analysis, including providing proactive advice on emerging hazards and necessary alignment to regulations.

  • Audit, review and endorse health risk assessments and monitor progress.  

  • Work with cross functions to collate issues, create optimized solutions and promote/disseminate learnings and best practices.

  • Participate in HSSE inspections, audits and committees

  • Prepare reports of near-misses, accidents, first aid and medical treatment situations of employees and service contractors.

  • Work with Safety, Security and Environment colleagues on any accident injury investigations and report incident findings to relevant authorities as well as liaise with relevant parties on workmen compensation, where required

  • Prepare for Occupational Health and Safety related ideas and topics for monthly electronic newsletter and company’s notice board

  • Endorse medical related entitlement applications for all BMC employees.

  • Organize mandatory occupational and medical screening, surveillance and inspection as required by relevant authorities 

  • Perform statutory health surveillance, such as when company personnel may be exposed to hazardous substances, noise or vibration

  • Plan and conduct routine quarterly or biannual inspection on the company’s canteen operator/caterer

  • Oversee document control of employees’ medical record.

  • Act as a focal Person for health-related contract management.

  • Accountable for the purchase planning of medical supplies in the company’s medical treatment facility, ensuring that they are readily available

  • Represent company as a liaison staff with Ministry of Health for Occupational Health and Safety related matters.

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, health physics or related field

  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in related field, including but not limited to being a medical practitioner, especially in a petrochemical industry

  • Professional certification on occupational health and industrial hygiene from a recognized industry body is an added advantage.



ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENT RELIABILITY ENGINEER

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to breakdowns. Identify, diagnose faults and resolve technical or operational problems of limited scope or complexity under general supervision.

  • Perform integrity diagnosis and equipment failure prevention diagnosis of plant equipment. Carry out engineering tests, analyse data, track failures and risks, evaluate performance, and advise Operations on parameters to adopt or re-adjust where necessary.

  • Work with Operations to perform analyses of assets; including asset utilization, overall equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life and other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets.

  • Monitor production process to ensure produced methanol conforms to required quality. Proactively identify changes and anticipate potential problems by studying and evaluating trends and recommending corrective and preventive actions to Maintenance

  • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures that adversely affect plant operations; including capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.

  • Perform feasibility, risk management and process planning studies to support the development of new technologies and methods; be involved in design and installation stages for new assets, or modification of existing assets.

  • Work with maintenance department to develop asset maintenance programs that include preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and preventive testing methodologies to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.

  • Participate in investigations and RCA involving E&I and control systems as complete action items and recommendations that result from incident investigations.

  • Provide overall plant support of Reliability Programs, Preventive Maintenance, Critical Equipment Monitoring, Control Systems performance, application of international standards, and development of appropriate repair/inspection/QA/QC standards.

  • Capable of performing DCS and PLC diagnostics.
     

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation and Control Engineering

  • Minimum five (5) years working experience in relevant field

     

MECHANICAL RELIABILITY ENGINEER (ROTATING EQUIPMENT)

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

 

Responsibilities:

  • Capable of performing vibration analysis.
     

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum five (5) years working experience in relevant field

     

PROCESS ENGINEER

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

 

  • Responsibilities:

  • Respond to breakdowns. Identify, diagnose faults and resolve technical or operational problems of limited scope or complexity under general supervision

  • Carry out process engineering  tests  to  evaluate  plant  performance,  track  losses  of  abnormally high  cost  of  methanol  production  and  develop  plan  to  eliminate  or  reduce  losses  and  make recommendations for improvement

  • Monitor production process to ensure produced  methanol  conforms  to  required  quality; proactively identify changes and anticipate potential problems by studying and evaluating trends and recommending preventive actions or process re-designs or adjustments

  • Maintain maintenance management  information  by  collecting,  analyzing,  and  summarizing operating   and   engineering   data   and   trend;   improve   maintainability   results   by   studying, evaluating,    and    recommending    process    re-design;    implementing    changes;    contributing information and opinion to technical and maintenance teams

  • Perform feasibility, risk management and process planning studies to support the development of new technologies and methods; be involved in design and installation stages for new assets, or modification of existing assets
     

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering

  • Minimum three (3) years working experience in relevant field
