Senior Mechanical (Static) Technician

MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

Responsibilities:

 

This is an experienced Support role. You work independently on tasks that are more varied and complex. You can identify and spot issues/ errors easily and complete work with limited degree of supervision. May act as informal resource for less experienced colleagues.

 

1. Train less experienced colleagues in their areas of work, including construction, maintenance, repair methods, procedures, and techniques.

2. Provide guidance and technical support to Mechanical (Static) Technicians; verify their work for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; and ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.

3. Perform as assigned, a variety of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance works which are more complex and technically challenging.

4. Assist Mechanical (Static) Supervisor in preparing PTW (Permit to Work) in their absence.

5. Perform testing and inspection work requiring higher-level knowledge, skills and abilities.

6. Perform highly complex fault diagnosis and resolve issues with general guidance from Supervisors. Analyse plant maintenance activities; recommend modifications to improve the reliability and availability of the equipment.

7. Monitor and promptly notify Supervisor of any observed or suspected incidents or problems.

8. Maintain familiarity with current safety regulations, standards, and best working practices within the company.

 

This is a Safety Critical role where you will be required to perform activities which include, but not limiting to, handling hazardous substances or equipment which, if not properly maintained, tested, inspected or operated, could lead to high-risk situations. Such situations could seriously impact the safety of self and others.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in the field
