On 22 July 2025, BMC welcomed Ms Ikuina Akiko, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Japan, and her delegation, to our facilities.

The delegation was given a guided tour of our methanol plant, followed by engagement session with BMC’s Executive Management. The dialogue provided valuable insights into our company’s operational contributions, strategic priorities and commitment to nation-building through responsible and sustainable industrial practices.

This visit was part of the delegation’s broader interest in understanding Brunei’s industrial landscape and BMC’s role in supporting the country’s economic aspirations.

Brunei Darussalam and Japan share amicable relations, characterized by cooperation in the areas of energy, trade and investment, education, and people-to-people exchange.
With 75% of BMC’s equity held by Japanese corporations, we take pride in being part of this bond, advancing the shared economic relations between our two nations.
