BMC was honoured to host Her Excellency Ms. Ambra May Dickie, High Commissioner of Canada to Brunei Darussalam, during her first official visit to the Company on 10 September 2024. Also in attendance was Ms. Eva Eng Chin Ng, Trade Commissioner from the High Commission of Canada. Her Excellency’s visit marks a step towards strengthening the diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and Canada.
Upon the delegation’s arrival, Her Excellency was warmly welcomed by our CEO, Mr. Jesús Enrique Mora Marín, along with members of the executive management.
The visit provided Her Excellency with insights into the Company’s business operation, highlighting our initiatives in shaping the economic landscape. Her Excellency also engaged in discussions about the Cleantech Trade Mission to Canada, an initiative by the High Commission of Canada aimed at fostering stronger business ties, exploring new trade opportunities, and enhancing economic cooperation between industries and markets in the cleantech and energy sector.
Both Brunei and Canada share similarities as resource-based economies with a significant reliance on oil and gas for economic prosperity, providing a platform for potential cooperation and knowledge exchange. The session was fruitful, as it provided a deeper understanding of our business and opened doors to exploring future economic opportunities.
