BMC JOINS THE COMMEMORATION OF THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM-JAPAN DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS RECEPTION IN TOKYO, JAPAN

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, graced the commemorative event marking four decades of diplomatic relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Japan at Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan on 8 March 2024. The occasion was filled with camaraderie and a shared vision for the future, marking the 2024 Brunei-Japan Friendship Year.

At the heart of the celebration, BMC stood side by side among the ministries and esteemed organizations from the oil and gas industry in Brunei Darussalam, and other key stakeholders who have contributed significantly to the longstanding relations between the two nations.

As the pioneer petrochemical facility in Brunei Darussalam with 75% of equity held by Japanese corporations, we take immense pride in our role in advancing shared economic relations.

Prior to the reception, His Royal Highness welcomed the arrival of His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Akishino, where they subsequently had a meeting. As His Royal Highness and His Imperial Highness toured the exhibition booths at the event, they engaged with industry leaders, diplomats, and fellow visionaries. Discussions centered around sustainable energy, technological advancements, and fostering bilateral ties.

Our exhibition booth showcased our remarkable achievements, ongoing initiatives, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Representing BMC were our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jesús Enrique Mora Marín; Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abdul Mu’izz bin Dato Paduka Haji Alikhan; and General Manager (HR, Finance, Marketing & Logistics, IT), Mr. Lim Boon Ming.

The evening crescendoed with a delightful cocktail reception, where laughter, anecdotes, and shared memories flowed freely. Amidst the elegant ambiance, we toasted to the past, celebrated the present, and envisioned a future strengthened by mutual respect and cooperation.
