On 7 May 2024, BMC welcomed representatives from Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad (“PCG”) led by En. Yaacob Salim, Head of Strategic Planning and Ventures.
Our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jesús Enrique Mora Marín, and members of the Executive Management extended a warm welcome to the delegation.
Discussions during the visit were centered around Brunei’s downstream oil and gas ecosystem, with a focus on exploring potential synergies and mutual interests within the Sultanate’s oil and gas sector. PCG is one of the largest integrated chemicals producer in Southeast Asia, and has expressed keen interest in understanding the dynamics of our business operations, especially in our recent development in making methanol accessible within Brunei’s local market. This strategic step aligns with the Wawasan Brunei 2035 framework, underlining our dedication to Brunei’s economic development and contribution to diversifying the downstream sector.
The visit concluded on a positive note, strengthening our ties and paving the way for future cooperation.
The delegation was also accompanied by representatives from the Brunei Economic Development Board (“BEDB”).
