On 10 October 2024, BMC hosted a health campaign in honor of World Heart Day and World Mental Health Day. Our mission? To raise awareness about cardiovascular health and mental wellbeing.
We kicked off the event with an exciting prize presentation for the winners of the Q2 and Q3 Step Challenge, part of the 2024 BN on the Move (BNOTM) campaign “BNOTM x BMC”. Our Executive Officer, Mr. Yasuhisa Tsukamoto, presented the awards, highlighting BMC’s dedication to encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle among employees.
The campaign featured insightful talks from medical professionals. Dr. Dk Nur Izyan Nadhirah Pg Hj Mohammad, a medical officer from RIPAS Hospital, shared essential heart health tips, emphasising preventive measures and healthier habits, aligned with this year’s World Heart Day theme “Heart for Action”.
We also welcomed Dr. Norhanani Nadzirah binti Haji Md Taib, a medical officer from the Health Promotion Centre, Ministry of Health, Brunei who provided insights into the Health Index program aimed at enhancing our overall health metrics.
Dr. Haji Mohammad Rizal Bin Dr Haji Sablee, an occupational health physician from Dr. Amir’s Clinic, spoke about prioritising mental health in the workplace, echoing this year’s World Mental Health Day theme, “It’s time to prioritize mental health in the workplace”. He reminded us of the importance of creating supportive environments where employees feel valued and understood.
The event also included exhibition booths offering free health screenings, educational materials, and lifestyles tips to encourage everyone to take charge of their wellbeing.
At BMC, we empower our employees to thrive, fostering a community that aligns with the goal of achieving a healthier nation as we strive toward Wawasan 2035.
Let’s continue to prioritize our health and support one another on this journey! ❤️💪
