SPARK Sungai Liang-The Brunei Methanol Company Sdn.Bhd. held a certificate handover ceremony to mark its achievement in acquiring its certification in  ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.
The certificate handover ceremony was to recognize and appreciate the achievement of BMC in attaining its ISO 9001:2008 in Quality Management System. This certification is one of several requisites that BMC as a SPARK tenants need to have.
In his speech, Mr Kinya Tsuji BMC’s Chief Executive Officer, highlighted that, standards serve as reference documents which are used in solving critical business issues. They serve as a basis for common understanding on trade in goods and services and transfer of knowledge especially in industrial systems. International Standards such as ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems are available for good business practices for production of quality products and efficient service delivery.
He also added that the certification affirms that BMC has in place the necessary quality management systems that will enable them to focus on stakeholders’ satisfaction by ensuring continual improvement and increased operational efficiency. The value addition of this certification will be reflected in higher efficiency and effectiveness, improved customer satisfaction, more profit and better communication internally and externally. It will also assist in the cost reduction of doing business.

The certificate was first presented to Mr Kinya Tsuji, BMC’s Chief Executive Officer by Bureau Veritas Operations Manager and later presented to SLA Chairman by the CEO of BMC.

Attending the ceremony were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Kerma Raja Pengiran Haji Kamarulzaman bin Pengiran Pekerma Setia Di Raja Shaibul Bandar Pengiran Haji Ali, Chairman Sungai Liang Authority, Mr Amir Mahalingam, Operations manager, Bureau Veritas, Yang Berhormat Haji Shafiee bin Ahmad and members of BMC’s management.
