Brunei Methanol Company Sendirian Berhad (“BMC”) is an international joint venture company incorporated in Brunei Darussalam, to construct, own and operate Brunei Darussalam’s first world class methanol production plant. BMC invites Bruneians to apply for the following vacant position:
 
Positions Vacant:
 
 
1. CORPORATE SERVICES STAFF (EVENT MANAGEMENT)
Repoting to:
Corporate Services Officer

Responsibilities:
1. To assist Corporate Services Officer in developing and compliance of event management procedure.
2. To assist the HR and Corporate Services Department in promoting and ensuring the Company objectives and goals are met.
3. Identify all aspects of events risk assessment and event planning strategies with event management company.
4. To prepare and coordinate corporate annual calendar of events.
5. Prepare and plan detail event program and execute all necessary events preparations are in order to meet its objectives.
6. To schedule work program and interaction with working groups to organize Company events.
7. Prepare a closing report on all activities / events being promoted for the company.
 
Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates must either:
1. Candidates must possess either:
a) O-Level Certificates with at least 5 O-level credits ( one of which must be in English Language), and with Three (3) years relevant working experience relating to event management. Candidates possessing Diploma or other higher qualification(s) for competency in the area of event management will have an added advantage; OR
b) Possess a minimum of Five (5) years relevant working experience relating to event management; AND
2. Must be proficient in Microsoft office program software, particularly in Microsoft Power Point; AND
3. Must have good public speaking and presentation skills.
 
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS (For All Positions):
A. In addition to the Eligibility Requirements for each of the vacant position above, all applicants MUST ALSO possess the following general eligibility requirements:-
 
1. A Brunei National or Brunei Permanent Resident status; AND
2. Able to communicate well in the English language and Malay language (both oral and written); AND
3. Able to handle multiple assignments and under short deadline; AND
4. Able to work independently or with minimum supervision; AND
5. Possess work planning acumen and have the discipline of being an organised person; AND
6. Able to work in a team-oriented work environment; AND
7. Able to work using computers, especially with Microsoft Office applications; AND
8. Able to write reports and proposals; AND
9. Having own transportation or having own means of coming to work.
B. Before any successful candidates are confirmed as an Employee of the Company for the above positions, he/she MUST ALSO pass the followings:-
 
1. Pass the Company’s physical health and medical fitness (including eyesight and hearing) test; AND
2. Pass the Company’s assessment/appraisal during his/her probation period.

2. Shortlisted candidates are required to:-
 
a. Produce original copies of all qualifications/achievements stipulated in their Job Application Form for eligibility verification purposes during interview session. Candidates who are unable to satisfy this eligibility verification requirement will be automatically disqualified.
b. Undergo a written examination, as well as an interview session.
