HSSE Policy Statement
Brunei Methanol Company (BMC) Sdn. Bhd. is committed towards ensuring the health and safety of people, effective security controls and protection of the environment. This HSSE Policy Statement comprises the critical elements of Company’s HSSE Management System and shall be the guidance to all of the Company’s employees and contractors on how to conduct their work activities.

In order to protect our people and the environment in all our business activities, the Company and its contractors are required to:

  • Ensure visible leadership and commitment within the organisational structure towards a HSSE culture.
  • Employ appropriate resources to cascade this Policy throughout our organisation and inculcate HSSE culture in all levels of the organisation.
  • Ensure effective HSSE roles and responsibilities within the organisational structure, through effective communication, planning and training in HSSE related matters.
  • Maintain focus on HSSE matters, such as identifying and controlling health-related risks from operations and activities.
  • Closely monitor measurable objectives for HSSE related projects in order to avoid any injury or accidents.
  • Employ tight security controls to ensure the safety of employees, and Company assets and operations.
  • Protect the environment by ensuring prevention of pollutions are in-place during day-to-day operations.
  • Conduct annual targets and regular audits of the HSSE Management System.
  • Ensure that employee performance meet HSSE objectives through periodically report and review of HSSE compliance.
  • Encourage comments and feedback on practices or activities that contravene the Company’s HSSE Management System.
  • Maintain strict compliance towards HSSE legislation, regulations and good corporate practice.

  • All testing, verification and calibration work doome shall be carried out in accordance to proven test methods and meet the customer requirements.
 
 
Environmental Policy Statement
Brunei Methanol Company (BMC) Sdn. Bhd. is committed towards ensuring the protection of the environment. This Environmental Policy follows the commitments as stated in the BMC Environmental Management Rules and is in compliance with the requirements of ISO14001:2004.

In order to fulfil the Company’s commitment to minimize its impact to the environment and preventing pollution in all business activities, the Company shall:
  • Be committed at the highest level, as well as promote this commitment to all of its employees, contractors, suppliers and the community.
  • Include environmental considerations in all strategic and planning decisions
  • Ensure adequate resources and training to all staff and contractors so that the Environmental Management System (EMS) is properly understood and implemented.
  • Conduct its operations in such a manner that accidental pollution and waste are prevented and/or minimized
  • Identify and set environmental objectives and targets.
  • Report environmental incidents and environmental performance to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Adhere to applicable environmental law and regulations as well as other requirements which the Company subscribe to
  • Conduct regular internal audits, inspections and review all complaints and community expectations as part of continual improvement.

  • Understand the BMC HSSE Policy
  • Obey all HSSE procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping in office and working environment.
  • Use the right tools for work.
  • Wear seat belts and ensure occupants do the same.
  • No using cell phone and use hand free set while driving.
  • Respect all HSSE signs, posters and alerts.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment during site and work operations.
  • Duty to care for other people’s safety as it is part of my responsibility.
  • Be part of a team for HSSE contribution
  • Hold the hand rails while using the stairs.
  • Avoid any shortcuts during working operations.
  • Be a role model to show best safe practices.
  • Report any unsafe acts / conditions (“Report it!”).
